SOPA & PIPA

Sites like this one cannot publicize themselves fairly under the restrictions suggested by the SOPA and PIPA bills. I’ve had a song removed under YouTube’s take-down-first guilty-until-you-swear-you’re-innocent system, and the notion that a Congressman can think that sort of arrangement is constitutionally acceptable is disturbing. I worry that this kind of protesting will continue to fall on deaf ears, but if this does reach an appropriate politician, understand that every day that a non-violent demonstration is ignored is a day closer to the day when our activists decide that we should resort to other measures.

Ask a soldier, protection of the US Constitution is worth dying for.

See you next time.

Today, considering the fast life style that everyone is having, credit cards get this amazing demand in the economy. Persons coming from every arena are using credit card and people who not using the credit cards have arranged to apply for one. Thanks for sharing your ideas in credit cards.

These days of austerity as well as relative anxiousness about having debt, a lot of people balk about the idea of employing a credit card in order to make purchase of merchandise or perhaps pay for a trip, preferring, instead only to rely on a tried in addition to trusted approach to making transaction – cash. However, if you\’ve got the cash available to make the purchase 100 %, then, paradoxically, that is the best time for you to use the credit cards for several factors.

One thing is that one of the most frequent incentives for making use of your credit cards is a cash-back or perhaps rebate present. Generally, you\’ll get 1-5% back upon various expenditures. Depending on the credit cards, you may get 1% back again on most buying, and 5% back again on expenditures made at convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores as well as \’member merchants\’.

Thanks for these tips. One thing I should also believe is the fact that credit cards featuring a 0% interest rate often entice consumers with zero interest, instant endorsement and easy on the web balance transfers, nonetheless beware of the number one factor that is going to void your 0% easy street annual percentage rate and also throw anybody out into the very poor house rapidly.

Thanks for your tips. One thing we\’ve noticed is that banks as well as financial institutions know the spending behavior of consumers plus understand that a lot of people max out their credit cards around the holiday seasons. They prudently take advantage of this fact and begin flooding your current inbox in addition to snail-mail box together with hundreds of Zero APR card offers shortly after the holiday season ends. Knowing that if you are like 98% of American open public, you\’ll get at the possible opportunity to consolidate personal credit card debt and move balances for 0 rate credit cards.

Edit: I forgot to get a photo of the paper, but this story was run today, click here to read.

This robot comment came from an artificial fan of Shel Silverstein:

I bought this book along with “The Missing Piece” almost 10 years ago, when I was in college. My friend introduced me to those books, and I had to get my own copies. In fact, a good number of people among my circle of friends got their own copies as well.I think those two books are the only “children’s books” I have in my possession, but they are among the most touching and most memorable of all the books I own and read. And even though they’re labeled as children’s books (and they sure look that way too), I feel they’re a better fit (haha, no pun intended) for grown-ups.If you plan on getting this book (as you well should), then definitely get “The Missing Piece” as well. I don’t think the story and the message of The Missing Piece fable is complete with just one book. You gotta get both books to fully appreciate it.Highest utmost recommendations. God, I love this book.

I’m sure it was based on a search of the title of this song.

Pie Meets Face

I think a few mistakes have been made regarding the “News of the World” scandal:

  • News of the World are being confused with an actual newspaper, which is expected to adhere to standards of journalist integrity.
  • The Parliament committee that had the hearing is being confused with an actual lawmaking body qualified to protect a people’s privacy.
  • The Murdochs were being confused with people who need and care about tabloid print. They explained that it was such a tiny fraction of their business that they could have relieved themselves of it years ago and prevented the whole ordeal.

What if a malicious visitor to the House of Commons was armed with more than whipped cream?

Why was there no such stunt against Bernard Madoff?

I’m sure I’m not the only one to bring this up, but it’s worth mention. What credibility did UK politicians gain in those hearings?

If you’re not finished crucifying Casey Anthony yet…

Forgive me, I’m going to be Devil’s Advocate for a moment.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_white_woman_syndrome:

Missing white woman syndrome (MWWS) or missing pretty girl syndrome is a vernacular term for the disproportionately greater degree of coverage in televisionradionewspaper and magazine reporting of a misfortune, most often a missing person case, involving a young,attractivewhiteupper-middle classwoman or girl. This degree of coverage is contrasted with cases concerning a missing male, or missing females of other ethnicities, socioeconomic classes or physical attractiveness.

I’m not a believer in the phrase “stupid people shouldn’t breed” or that people should be singled out and removed from society in genocidal fashion.  I look forward to a day when the presumption of guilt is no longer a problem but willingly concede that it always will be an issue.

Since most people have cared enough to follow this case have allowed the extreme prejudice of photographs and emotion to conquer them in whole, let me share some of my ill feelings about today’s news.

When I look at a photograph of Caylee Anthony, I see a girl who would have grown up to look like Casey Anthony, and become just like her mother. If you think that sounds cruel, consider how quickly so many people wanted to remove Casey Anthony from the gene pool entirely.  Were you one of them?

I don’t like to sound like I’m judging so many people in a single stroke, though I’m afraid I have. The only thing that is certain is that everyone’s perception is clouded and that it is now impossible to find the real truth. Sorry, determining that “nobody else could have done it” is not evidence that undeniably ties a culprit to a murder, no matter how clear that may seem to be in your mind, heart, or whatever, and what remains are unanswerable questions. I admit, I have no idea what happened, and I insist that neither does anyone else. I can assume that people who know something have successfully collaborated to keep the secret, but sadly, without evidence of the collaboration, it is no different.

I do know that a lot of social and psychological energies have been wasted over a single person while the abduction and murder of children continues to happen, even in the town I live in.

You remember Christopher Barrios, Jr., don’t you?  Or do you?  That’s what MWWS means.

Sorry, I don’t mean to judge, I want to ask, when bombarded with so many stories and photographs, do you really think that you are able to be impartial?

“See, that’s the problem: I have no follow-through.  I’ve tried a bazillion things and moved on from just about all of them.  Honestly, the things that I’ve managed to stick with I’m either legally obligated to do (like paying my mortgage), need the money (like my day job), simply can’t reverse (like being a parent), or would die if I stopped (like eating and, while I have been testing this theory, bathing).”

I know more people for whom the above is true than otherwise, and I am certain it is true for everyone at some point in time.  There are things that I have wanted to try where I simply lost interest and moved on to the next hobby.

The “excuse” that goes with changing hobbies a lot is impatience, but if that’s all there is to it, then that means everyone is impatient!  If you find something really, really interesting, it becomes easier to stay with it, finish a task, and get good at it over time.  Perhaps people who never manage to do this mistakenly call your long-time hard-earned proficiency “talent” when the truth has always been, anyone can be that good at any craft if you spend the same amount of time on it. If you think you’ve lost a lot of time marveling or otherwise thinking about how much you have yet to learn, the best time to get started is immediately.

It doesn’t matter if you take up a craft so late in life that you can’t be as good as someone who started off as a child prodigy, that’s as silly as thinking that someday you’ll out-age an older sibling and isn’t anything worth getting upset over.  If you become frustrated, just spend a bit less time on it, but make a point to spend some minimum, maybe a half-hour per day, until you find some sort of breakthrough.

My decision to release music on the internet was based upon meeting (in the internet chat sense) other people who already were doing that, with the personal realization that I get more satisfaction from finishing up a piece of music than I get from performing it.  Prior to than moment, I had a lot of little fragment bits of music that I didn’t like very much, and about four or five underpromoted pop songs.

My unfinished business from being school-aged includes a long list of science projects and incomplete computer programs.  Do you leave a lot of things unfinished?  Do you think of unfinished things as regrets or just a natural part of growing up?
